Aidan John Spiers

Summer 2006 to March 2007

We have fallen behind, but here are some key moments with Aidan.  Lots of beach fun last summer, hallowe'en and his new haircut!

Mom's back to work, Aidan is 9 months old and Dad is in Charge!

Our transition to role reversal, began with a trip to Daytona Beach to enjoy some sun and ocean with Grandma and Poppa (Allen).  Aidan apparently loves to travel - the plane was no problem for him and he thoroughly enjoyed to pool and shedding his winter gear for six day!  Lots of firsts over the last few months: cookies, the ocean, pools, flying.  Aidan now has three teeth, and is close to cutting at least two more.  He slithers, sings, says dada and tata, waves and "hi-five's", finally drinks from a bottle and giggles infectiously.  We  also spent March Break in Niagara with Granny and Grandad - we will try to get those photos up soon.

Aidan has enjoyed his first Christmas, and is now seven months old. At six months he was 17 lbs 2oz and 28.5 inches tall.   He is definitely taking after Uncle Mark and Grandad when it comes to height.  Has two teeth, sits on his own, loves his jolly jumper and slithers about to find his toys.  His favourite foods are asparagus and mango!  He seems to enjoy the outdoors, and falls quickly to sleep when out in his sled. Our dog Jezebel and Aidan have become fast friends.

Aidan is almost three and a half months old.  At his last appointment (Aug 17) he was a whopping, tall 25 inches and a 14lbs 4 oz, and has been continuing to grow steadily since.  He sleeps through the night, has a strong neck and shows us new tricks each day. 

Aidan is eight weeks old, and we think about 13 pounds and starting to sleep from 9:30 pm until sometimes as late as 6 am! Steve still sleeps more than both of us. More hours are spent awake and playing now... and we still have lots of visitors coming to meet Aidan for the first time.  Lots of outdoors firsts are happening... Aidan likes boating much more than swimming so far.  Bath time is a hit.

Aidan is now five weeks old, over 11 pounds and 22.5 inches.  Most nights Aidan sleeps for over 5 hours at a time which is great!  This past week the weather has been HOT, 34 C yesterday and there is talk of this heat for the rest of the week.  Aidan is adapting to our hectic lifestyle quite nicely.  He is in and out of the car, the pram and the chariot, passed around like a football yet never complains.  We are very lucky.  Here are some photos of the past few weeks of Aidan and family:

Day 1

Susanne and Steve would like to introduce Aidan John Spiers to Allen's Landing and our lives.  Born on June 7 at 11:42 pm and weighing 8lbs, 2oz, little Aidan entered the world.  Susanne is doing incredible after almost 24 hours of labour and enjoying the first hours of motherhood. The baby is healthy and happy to be out in the world and Steve couldn't be happier, tired yes, but oh so happy.  Happy Grandparents for the first time are John and Carmel Spiers and for the third time Floyd and Pat Allen.
