There is a great deal going on behind the scenes at Allen's Landing to ensure the property is safe and the amenities reliable during your visit.  By Summer 2006 our projects will be more visible and focus on the beautification of the buildings and landscape!

Year 1 - Opened December 2003 / Summer 2004

Name changed from Cairns Cabins to Allen's Landing

 Sign replaced

All electrical on property replaced - interior and exterior.

New furnaces in Cabins 3 and 4.

All cabins freshly painted interiors.

Added queen size beds to Cabins 3, 4 and 5.

All trees trimmed to ensure full view of the waterfront and old trees removed.

Cedar hedge planted to define property.

Playhouse and climbing equipment added to main beach.

Cabin 1 renovated to open concept three bedroom.

Ceiling tiles removed in Cabins 1 and 2 to reveal post and beam construction.

Fresh beach sand added to the waterfront.

Year 2 - Summer 2005

Aidan arrives at Allen's Landing!

New water system to back up the well.

New fridges in all cabins.

New furnace in Cabin 5.

Added double and single bunk beds to Cabins 3 and 4.

Additional Muskoka chairs purchased.

New picnic tables.

Two new firepits.

Fresh beach sand added to the waterfront.

New plumbing in both Cabins 1 and 2.

New shower and stove in Cabin 1.

Boat Beach expanded.

Horseshoe pits re-built.

Gardens are beginning to appear.

Floating raft constructed with the help of the Saunders family!

Years 2006-2008

Begin the re-painting of exteriors.

Replaced industrial flooring in Cabins 3 and 4.

Replaced cottage screens.

Further renos to brighten Cabin 1 and new kitchen.

Further renos to Cabin 2 bathroom.

More gardens.

Volley ball court on Boat Beach.

Some baseboard heating for Cabins 1 and 2.

Another dock and more sand for Cabin 2 waterfront.

Upgraded paddle boats.

Purchased kayaks.

New swingset.

Further Goals

Greener cleaning and composting options.

Herb garden for guests.

Fireplace for Cabin 2 off season heating.

New windows for Cabins 1 and 2, to slowly winterize/

Screen porches for Cabin 4 and 5.
